In the true spirit of a small local swimming club, Exeter City Swimming Club is a friendly, thriving charitable club, dating back to 1895. With a membership of 190+ swimmers drawn from within a fifty mile radius of the city of Exeter, the Club plays an important role for the sport in the South West with a high level of competition. Exeter City Swimming Club (ECSC) offers a comprehensive swimming programme for children between the ages of four and eighteen plus. The earliest ‘Learn To Swim’ programme provides the first step in a seamless pathway for the non-swimmer through to the Performance programme for elite athletes, who swim competitively at county, regional and national levels. The Club is proud of its excellent record in the consistent production of National, Junior National and World Stage team members.
ECSC very fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year on behalf of its members. As a parent you have opportunities to support and encourage your children in many practical ways. We rely on you to get involved by:
• Helping with galas
Sign up to a job on one of our noticeboards. It’s good fun and keeps you busy while you’re waiting for your child to swim their race!
• Helping with fundraising
Collect raffle prizes, sell raffle tickets at our galas, bake cakes.
• Becoming a member of the organising committee
We meet once a month – perhaps you have a skill you could share with us?
• Becoming a poolside helper or a qualified coach
Many of our coaches are parents too!
• Becoming a qualified official
Such as a timekeeper or a judge.
Meet a few of us…
