Learn To Train

To maintain a fun atmosphere while introducing basic elements of competitive swimming and the pursuit of ASA badges, including the “Preliminary Competitive Start Award”.

  • Lengths swimming
  • Improve strokes and skills on all four strokes
  • Improve stamina
  • Developing race starts (from the side and from blocks)
  • Developing race turns and transitions
  • Introducing a competitive element

Squad Criteria:

Must be able to swim 50m comfortably with a recognised stroke

£37 monthly plus annual membership fee

Commitment Level:
1 – 2½ hours per week, Swimming should be one of many activities for the athlete. The swimmer should be team orientated in terms of spirit & attitude.

Recommended Practice Attendance:
2½ hours per week

Focus competitions:

Devon Developments (9yr) and fun galas for all ages (such as the Dawlish Ribbon gala)

Equipment list:
Water bottle, kick board, small pull buoy, kit bag, goggles, swim suit and swim hat. Please make sure all items are named.
