Test set guidelines:
- 6 x 100 FS on 1:30
- 4 x 200 FS on 3:00
- 3 x 400 FS on 6:00
- 6 x 100 IM on 1:45
- 4 x 200 IM on 3:20
- 4 x 100 FS kick on 2:00
Swimming must be the athlete’s primary activity. Swimmers must commit to the highest level in every area of training, goal setting, attendance, and supporting the team. Swimmers are expected to enter all Championship events for which they qualify, in conjunction with a discussion with their coach. A log book of all sessions must be completed.
Recommended practice attendance:
Swimmers must attend at least six training sessions per week of which one session must be a midweek morning session. The core sessions are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday or Sunday morning and a weekday morning. This is to increase to nine sessions per week as the swimmer progresses.
To attend three land training sessions a week, one x 1 hour and two x 30 minutes. All swimmers in this group are expected to supplement their team sessions with landwork at home/the gym.
Championship Trials, ASA National Championships, ASA Regional Championships, Devon Championships, Level 1 + 2 Open Meets, Interclub Galas as selected. The head coach will issue an annual plan detailing target meets and swimmers will discuss with the head coach which events are appropriate to enter at each meet.
2 x 1 litre water bottles, goggles, kick board, pull buoy, fins, ankle band for pull, finger paddles, hand paddles, snorkel, stretch cord and skipping rope.
