Devon Open Water Championships success for our swimmers
The Devon ASA Open Water Championships were held on Saturday 7th September at Teignmouth Beach. It was a beautiful day, with near perfect sea conditions. The sea temperature was around 17 degrees which meant it would be a wetsuit swim, as per FINA rules.
The Devon ASA Open Water Secretary is our own Ali Browning, so she was unable to compete this year, but alongside her fellow Open Water committee members they organised a great championships. (The first Devon Open Water Champs for a few years). Teignmouth Beach Rescue were on hand to provide water safety for the event.
We had a number of ECSC swimmers competing. The senior race (17 and over) was 3K and the junior race (16 and under) was 1.5K and what a successful day it was!
