ECSC Member History Feature No. 1 - January

Over the next 12 months, to help celebrate our 125th Anniversary, we are going to feature a club member, past or present, every month. January's featured club member is the most appropriate member to start us off and we would like to introduce Mrs Exeter Swimming herself..... Helen Townsend! Helen is part of the fabric of Exeter City Swimming Club, having been actively involved with the club since a very young swimmer, right the way through to still being involved today. We know that Helen is very proud of the club and will always be on hand to offer advice to any member of the club, from those just starting out in the world of competitive swimming and needing help understanding what all t

125 years of Exeter City Swimming Club!

2020 marks a momentous year for Exeter City Swimming Club. The club, established in 1895, is 125 years old this year! We are perhaps in our most successful period in terms of the numbers of swimmers at the club now being over 700, with a hugely successful Swim School nurturing the latest young swimmers from our brilliant City and surrounding towns and villages, but also due to the excellent number of swimmers from our competitive squads qualifying and challenging for titles on a National level. Perhaps Exeter's big

Most of our swimmers, especially from our Performance Squad, are in heavy training after the Christmas period to prepare them for the long course season, Regional and National qualification. However, there were some great swims from our large contingent of swimmers who competed. Numerous PB's, finalists and medalists in all age ranges which was great to see. On Saturday 11th it was the 800m event, which saw male and female swimmers compete the event, which was held long course. There were some really strong swims in this tough event, with a

Swim England selection for Alec

Congratulations to our Performance Squad swimmer Alec White on being selected as one of the twenty young swimmers to represent Swim England at the FFN Golden Tour in Nice. The junior squad will face a tough competition from the international field in France, from 7th - 9th February, with the annual meet acting as a brilliant opportunity for English swimmers as they move towards senior competition. Alec is rightly being recognised for his performances on a national level. Everyone at Exeter City Swimming Club is super proud of him and wish him good luck at the meet. Here is the Swim England article and squad list. https://www.swimming.org/sport/nice-squad-2020/
