Regional Champs Success!

We have just completed the South West Regional Championships, held over a few weekends in April/May at the 50m pools in our region, Hengrove, Bristol, Life Centre, Plymouth and Millfield School, Somerset. The South West is one of the strongest regions in the UK for swimming, with our swimmers facing swimmers from very strong clubs who can boast better pool facilities and more favourable training times than we can, which highlights how well our swimmers have done to compete against them and gain the success they have. We had 46 swimmers achieve the necessary qualifying times, across 228 swims which resulted in these superb results: 1 x Gold, 8 x Silver and 9 Bronze medals. This was on top o

New kit for our Swim School Teachers!

Our Swim School teaching team have taken delivery of smart new t-shirts. These shirts have been designed and manufactured by our kit apparel partners, Swimzi. Our Swim School goes from strength to strength and now has nearly 400 swimmers, ranging in age from 3 to 8 years old and attending classes at Middlemoor Police Headquarters and WESC pools. The Head of our Swim School, Ali Browning, identified that with many of our swimmers being so young and our club polo shirts being predominantly black in colour, that perhaps a shirt in our visually impactive bright lime green would be more suitable for the teachers to wear at our Swim School. Top Devon Awards

We would like to congratulate two members of our club who have been awarded prestigious Devon ASA Awards. The Devon ASA Annual General Meeting has taken pace recently and prior to the the AGM it is the Devon Executive to decide on who is going to win the awards for the year. This year members of Exeter City Swimming Club were honoured, with not one, but two awards! Neil Shire (Left in photo) is our Junior Performance Lead Coach and has been awarded the Devon Coach of the Year Award. Great success for ECSC swimmers at the British Champs in Glasgow

The British Swimming Championships this year were held at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow between 16th and 21st April 2019. These championships see the fastest senior and junior swimmers in Britain racing for places to represent Team GB at major events. To even qualify for these championships is a huge achievement and all of GB's top swimmers were there, including Olympian and World Record Holder Adam Peaty.
