Winter National Performers

Swim England – Winter National Championships Ponds Forge International Pool, Sheffield. 5th – 8th December 2019 Exeter City Swimming Club had six swimmers qualify for the Swim England Winer National Championships in Sheffield and five of them travelled to Sheffield to race at the Championships. Alec White swam a lifetime best in the 100m Individual Medley to make the Youth final and finish 2nd in that final. He also made the final of the 100m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly, both in best times and also raced in the 100m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle. Olivia Burrow recorded a seasons best time in the 200m Backstroke making the Final and going faster again, which was super impressive! Warren Barret

Top Visiting Club at 'The Dasher'

Over the weekend of 29th and 30th November and 1st December, Devonport Royal and Dinnaton Swimming Club's jointly hosted their 'Dasher' Meet. It was a really good meet, where many of the younger swimmers from our competitive squads were able to compete in a friendly, but competitive meet. Many of the swimmers were aiming as always to make improvements to their racing, gaining personal bests and in some instances hoping to gain county qualifying times. Well, many of them certainly did that! Swim England National Awards Silver!

We are very pleased to announce that our dedicated and hard working volunteer, Martin Walters, who deservedly won the Swim England South West Volunteer of the Year Award back in September, has now gone on to win Silver at the Swim England National Awards! The awards ceremony was held on Saturday 30th November at the University of Birmingham and Martin was on a shortlist of 8 regional winners who had the opportunity to win an award. There were a number of categories, with Martin in the Volunteer of the Year category. Awards were given to those in the top three. Martin came in an amazing second place to win the Silver Award!
